Tom has always cherished living in the Greater Spokane community, leaving only for college in Pullman and a state job in Olympia. He graduated from W.S.U. with a B.A. in history and psychology minor. He served as a Spokane police officer and Washington State Parole Board member and sees issues through the lens of public safety first. He has 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
Moving into the River District in 2012, Tom has been active as a volunteer on the Civil Service, Planning, and Parks & Arts commissions. He has also been part of Friends of the Library, Friends of Pavillion Park, Snow Angels and many other Liberty Lake meetings and events.
His life is committed to serving others, and he intends to continue this on the City Council with the following goals:
– Support city staff and the incredible work they do.
– Remain open-minded and inclusive.
– Be informed, involved and respectful.
– Work with all members of our community to make “Liberty Lake Together” an ever-growing reality.
You are welcome to contact Tom at (509) 389-0372 and tsahlberg@libertylakewa.gov to meet and/or to discuss an issue.
