[ARCHIVED] Kramer Overpass to open with ribbon cutting event on Saturday, Sept. 9

Kramer Overpass - 8-2023

The Kramer Overpass opens on Saturday, Sept. 9, with a grand opening ceremony starting at 10 a.m.  The public invited to attend the new bridge's ribbon cutting event that will be held north of the intersection at 21200 E. Country Vista Drive.

Speakers for the ceremony are scheduled to include Liberty Lake mayor Cris Kaminskas, 4th Legislative District senator Mike Padden, Central Valley School District superintendent John Parker, Spokane Valley Fire Dept. chief Frank Soto Jr., Washington State Dept. of Transportation regional administrator Todd Trepanier, and Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce president Lance Beck.

Those who are interested in being among the first residents to go over the new bridge are invited at the end of the speaker presentations to participate in a bike and golf cart parade to the Mission Avenue roundabout and back -- a round trip of about 1 mile.

The areas immediately west and east of the roundabout on E. Mission Avenue north of the bridge will be closed from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for the safety of the bike and golf cart participants during the Sept. 9 ceremony.

Members of the public who are planning to attend the grand opening ceremony are advised to park in the Consign Furniture parking lot at 21605 E. Country Vista Drive and use the walkway on the north edge of the road to get to the event area.
