What's Happening In The City Of Liberty Lake?

-Virtual Open House for New Police Chief.  The City of Liberty Lake will be interviewing potential candidates to become the New City Police Chief.  Please join us virtually on Wednesday October 21st, at 7:00 pm and see the candidates.  The Mayor would also love to here your opinion of the candidates.  You can send the Mayor an e-mail at sbrickner@libertylakewa.gov or HumanResources@libertylakewa.gov. -National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Coming October 24. This event is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs at locations in communities throughout the country. http://www.takebackyourmeds.org/

-The Liberty Lake Planning Commission will be holding a virtual public hearing on the Annual Comprehensive Plan & Development Code Amendments at 4 pm on Wednesday, October 14th.  Log in information for the virtual hearing, and information on the proposed amendments is available at: https://wa-libertylake2.civicplus.com/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_10142020-646 .

-The Harvard Road Widening project will likely start October 19th. Citizens will begin to see workers around the bridge doing work on the support structure around I-90 all winter. In the spring, work will begin on the bridge deck  and on ramps where there will be lane shifts and closures. The target finish date is May 2021.  Major lane shifts affecting traffic flow and bridge deck will commence in the spring.

-Knox Ave will be restriped starting 10/14 between Madson Ave. and Molter Ave. New striping will include parking on both sides of the street, bike lanes, and travel lanes.

-The Harvard Rd project will begin construction October 19th. Citizens will see contractors begin bridge work around the foundation, but not deck work will occur until Spring of 2021.

-The Liberty Lake Library is offering contact-free holds pickup Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturday from 10am-3pm. For more details about the service, contact the library at 509-232-2510.

-The Fall Leaf Pickup is looking a bit different this year.  There will be no leaf pickup, instead, residents can bring their bagged leaves to the Sewer District site from November 2 through November     20.  For more information:   https://libertylake.org/leaf-and-beach-pickup-2020/

-Winter Glow planning for Orchard Park is underway!

-Now is the time to schedule irrigation blowouts for your sprinkler system before the cold arrives!

-A reminder from LLPD to please secure your vehicles and homes at night and ensure you take all your valued items out of your vehicles or keep them out of sight.  We have had several vehicle prowlers in the area and would ask you to help deter some of this activity by securing your property.
