[ARCHIVED] City Response to COVID-19 3/13/2020

Letter 3-13-2020 for COVID-19 Response

From Mayor Brickner:

As of 3/13/2020, the City of Liberty Lake is following the Spokane Regional Health District (DOH) as the source for information and direction in response to COVID-19. In addition, we are coordinating with other cities and Spokane County. To follow DOH, please use this link to their website: www.srhd.org or call them at 324-1500. We are proactively monitoring the situation and taking appropriate measures to ensure we are doing our part to protect our citizens based on factual guidance from DOH.

The City has made the decision for the Liberty Lake Municipal Library to follow DOH recommendations and guidance of the Spokane Public Library as follows:

  • Effective at 6 p.m., Friday, March 13 the Liberty Lake Municipal Library will close to the public. The City will continually reassess to determine the length of the closure as this is a rapidly evolving situation.
  • All library programs and meeting room reservations are also cancelled until further notice.
  • During the closure, the library book drop will remain open, library patrons will be able to keep currently checked-out materials, and their holds on new materials will be extended. Liberty Lake Library does not have fines for overdue library materials.
  • The library also has many online resources, services, and materials. For more information about those resources, call the library at 509-232-2510 or access with your library card at www.libertylakelibrary.com.

City Hall will be open regular hours until further notice. However, we encourage citizens to call or email the city before coming here in person. Phone: 755-6700  Email: onlineinquiry@libertylakewa.gov

Recommendations from SRHD to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus:

  • Keep a social distance of 6’ between you and others
  • If you are sick, stay home
  • Sanitize often
  • Have proper sneeze or cough etiquette by covering your mouth
