[ARCHIVED] I-90/Barker to Harvard - Improve Interchanges & Local Roads

2019 Improvements for Traffic

Harvard Rd. Bridge, Henry Rd. Overpass and Barker Rd. approved to receive $20.9M in funding.

On behalf of The City of Liberty Lake, Mayor Steve Peterson is pleased to announce that the Harvard Rd. Bridge and West Bound on-ramp, Henry Road Overpass, as well as a Roundabout on Barker Rd. in Spokane Valley received funding for infrastructure improvements.

These projects will greatly improve traffic conditions and provide greater capacity as Liberty Lake continues to grow.  With Ridgeline High School and Selkirk Middle School coming on line in the near term and continued development north of I-90 in the River District, these improvements will improve commutes, accessibility into and out of our City and enhance Public Safety response times.

A terrific team made up of the City, Spokane Valley Fire Department and Central Valley School District were involved to pull off what most felt could not be done: Move a project slated in Connect Washington for 2029-2031 and move it forward 10 Years!

We would like to especially thank Senator Padden and Rep. Matt Shea for supporting these projects.  In addition, Mike Gribner, Eastern WSDOT Administrator, Senator Curtis King, Senator Steve Hobbs, Senate Majority Leader in the Senate Andy Billig, House Transportation Committee Chair Representative Jake Fey,  Senate Majority Leader Marcus Riccelli, and Representative Bob McCaslin.
