[ARCHIVED] City is seeking applicants for Voter's Pamphlet ballot measure statements

The City of Liberty Lake is seeking applicants for two separate committees that will be appointed to write a “for” statement and an “against” statement on a non-binding advisory ballot measure related to the proposed construction of a new city library and community flex space.  These statements will appear in the Spokane County Voters’ Pamphlet for the election of Nov. 4, 2025.   
Those who are interested in being considered for one of these committees must contact the Liberty Lake city clerk with their address and phone number, and designate which committee they would like to be on.  Applicants must be a resident of the City of Liberty Lake, and must submit their request by 12 noon on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025, to the Liberty Lake city clerk at rcaton@libertylakewa.gov or in person at Liberty Lake City Hall (22710 E. Country Vista Drive).  
Committee members may be appointed by the Liberty Lake City Council on the evening of Monday, Aug. 4.  Each committee of up to 3 people will need to create a statement of no more than 75 words and submit it to the Spokane County Auditor’s Office no later than 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025.  Each committee will then be granted an opportunity by the Spokane County Auditor’s Office to write a rebuttal statement, if necessary, that would need to be submitted to the Spokane County Auditor’s Office no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025.
