[ARCHIVED] City's update on Winter Glow - 6/13/2025

Blue Christmas lights

Winter Glow Spectacular, the weeks-long holiday-themed light display in Liberty Lake’s Orchard Park, has been produced by a local nonprofit since 2019. Other than offering access to Orchard Park and permitting the event, the City of Liberty Lake has not been involved in the organization, management, or production of Winter Glow. Early in 2025, the event organizer notified the city of its intent to end Winter Glow in Liberty Lake. Since receiving the news, the city has attempted to partner with the nonprofit to extend the life of the event, which led up to the community-wide Town Hall that occurred on June 2, 2025. After several attempts to reach an equitable agreement with the nonprofit, it has become clear that no partnership is possible. As a result, Winter Glow Spectacular will no longer take place in Liberty Lake.

The input we received during the June 2nd Town Hall indicated that area residents have valued Winter Glow and would support the continuation of a holiday-themed winter event in Liberty Lake. Therefore, the city is working to find the best kind of attraction to take its place. Stay tuned for more information and opportunities to help imagine what’s next.
