[ARCHIVED] "Transparency in Local Government": Community town hall coming Sept. 10

Liberty Lake residents are invited to attend a community town hall on "Transparency in Local Government" during the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Trailhead Golf Course Clubhouse's Rotary Room (22301 E. Country Vista Drive).

The focus of this town hall is to give residents the opportunity to provide input for the city's proposed transparency act for public meetings, which would address areas such as processes for public notices as well procedures for making public comments. Attendees will also be able to visit one-on-one with representatives from the city's commissions and other groups and learn more about what those groups do.

The Sept. 10 session will be comprised of two parts:

♦ 6 p.m.: Meet and greet with members of the City Council, Library Board, and the Parks and Arts, Community Engagement and Planning commissions.

♦ 7 p.m.: Open discussion with the City Council about the city's proposed transparency act. Attendees will be able to ask questions and suggest ideas on this topic with the City Council members.
