Liberty Lake offers community garden sites at both Rocky Hill Park (24901 E. Mission Ave.) and the Nature's Place at Meadowwood Arboretum (on the pathway just east of the City Hall site). These garden plots are available to rent starting the first working day of each new year. Reservations for plots are only available to residents who live within the city limits of Liberty Lake.
Plot Reservations
Applications open on the first working day of the year and are available on a first come/first served basis. Residents may come to City Hall at that time to fill out an application and select their plot.
Plots are limited to ONE per address/household.
The fee is $25 for the season (approximately April 1 through Nov. 1).
Fees are non-refundable, whether an applicant decides to forfeit a plot or through lack of use.
Plots do not roll over from the previous year's usage. Previous applicants are not guaranteed a plot site, nor is there a guarantee of being able to have the same plot they had previously.
Applicants who cannot make it to City Hall during working hours may phone in a request and receive an application by e-mail and pay over the phone with a credit card. Plot requests that are not made in person will be assigned randomly. If an e-mailed application is not returned the following day or if there is no follow-up communication to City Hall the following day, the plot will be forfeited and will be reopened for rental.
In the event that a resident's garden plot is not being used or is being poorly cared for (such as having excessive weeds or bugs), city staff will attempt to call or e-mail the resident before any necessary action to clear out the plot.
