These new and exciting dance classes are jointly offered through Spokane Valley and the City of Liberty Lake Parks and Recreation Departments. Both Departments are accepting class registrations by walk-in, mail, or online.
Classes:
Ballroom: Mondays (5:30pm - 6:20pm) Ages 16+
What most people think of when the word Ballroom is used are these three dances: Waltz, Tango, and Foxtrot. Ballroom will usually focus on one of these dances, in particular American Social Foxtrot, American Waltz, and American Tango. All three of these dances are considered ‘progressive' dances, meaning they move around the floor rather than staying in one general spot. The Waltz and Foxtrot can, of course, incorporate figures learned in the Romance class, but generally box figures will not be focused on in Ballroom. Class is designed to teach beginners the basics and challenge already accomplished dancers.
FEE: $55/single or $90/partnership (for 6 week class)
Session 1: April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10
Session 2: May 17, 24, June 7, 14, 21, 28 (no class 5/31)
Session 3: July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2, 9, 16
This class focuses on the box step essentials from Rumba, Foxtrot and Waltz. Students will learn box figures that can be used in all three rhythms, allowing couples to dance to Waltz, Foxtrot or Latin Music. Wedding couples will be given entrances and exits for their big dance and may bring their wedding song to class if they have chosen one. This class may also teach or touch on Nightclub Two Step, which is the perfect dance to replace that junior high hug and wobble. Class is designed to teach beginners the basics and challenge already accomplished dancers.

Taught mostly in triple rhythm, this dance will accommodate a large range of music. We also teach single rhythm so you can keep up with those really fast tunes!
