It is the responsibility of the abutting property owner to keep the adjacent rights of way free of anything that obstructs or interferes with the normal flow of pedestrian or vehicular traffic, unless specifically authorized by ordinance to do otherwise. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, removal of earth, rock, and other debris, as well as projecting or overhanging bushes and limbs that may obstruct or render unsafe the passage of persons or vehicles, and sidewalk snow removal. The City of Liberty Lake maintains portions of the trail system along Country Vista Drive, Molter Road, and Harvard Road. A library card must be presented to borrow items. Digital library cards on mobile devices using the “Library Now” app or rewards card apps (Key Ring, eChain, etc.) are also accepted. Replacement cards may be purchased for $1.00.
Most items are loaned for 4 weeks. High demand/new items are loaned for 2 weeks. Movies, music, and magazines are loaned for 1 week. Items may be renewed once if no other patron has requested them. Loan periods for items from CIN libraries may vary. More information about getting a library card.
Go to the CIN catalog and sign in with your library card number and default password. Click the “change my password” tab on the left, fill out the boxes, and click “Submit changes.”
If you forget your password, library staff can reset it to the default, then you can follow the above steps to change it to something else. Sign into your account and change your password.
Click on the “my personal details” tab to update your name, address, or other contact information. This will notify staff of the changes, which they will ask you to verify next time you come into the library.

While signed into your account, you can also see what items you have on hold or checked out and when they’re due, renew them, manage your privacy settings (this directs the system to keep a reading history or not; it is never available to library staff), make purchase suggestions, and manage your lists. Sign into your account to update and manage it.
Confirm the hold details, including pick up location and the date after which you no longer want the hold (if applicable).
You will be notified by email or phone once the item is ready for pick up. Items are held for 5 business days.
You may also call the Library at 509-232-2510 for help placing a hold. Please have your library card number ready. Go to the CIN catalog to hold items.
All items are allowed one renewal unless requested by another patron. Items available to renew will have a box to check in a column marked “Renew.” Check the box next to any items you want to renew and click the “Renew selected” box. The new due date will display in the “Due” column. Sign into your account to renew items.
The Library also has an overnight book drop for returns when the Library is closed. All materials may be returned to this book drop. Items returned when the Library is closed will be checked in on the next day the Library is open and backdated to the last open day.
Liberty Lake Municipal Library belongs to the Cooperative Information Network. Items borrowed from any CIN library may be returned to any other CIN library.
The Library charges fees for overdue, damaged, and incomplete items. Overdue fees accrue at the rate of 10 cents per item per day. Damaged or lost materials are charged the replacement cost and a $3.00 processing fee. Contact Circulation at 509-435-0778 for information about fees.
You can receive an email notification when an item is checked in and cleared from your account by going to the CIN catalog and signing in with your library card number and Password/PIN (default password is last name in ALL CAPS). Select the “my messaging” tab, check the box next to the notifications you would like to receive, and click “Submit Changes.” Sign into your account to select notifications.
If the item you want is not owned or lent by a library in CIN, you can make a request for the library to purchase the item by logging in to your library account and selecting the “my purchase suggestions” tab. See the Collection Policy for the criteria the Library uses to select materials.
You will be notified by email on the Library’s purchasing decision. If the Library does decide to purchase the item you request you will be placed on the hold list for it and notified when it is available.

The Library has a free wi-fi network throughout the building for connecting with your personal device.
The Library has a printer and copier/scanner for public use. Black and white printing/copying is 10 cents a page, color is 50 cents a page, payable at the Circulation desk. Resume and job application printing is free.
The Library does not have faxing services. The closest public faxing offered is at the UPS Store on Liberty Lake Road.
Library staff are available to help you find information in print, online, and with our reference databases. We can help you research a product, find sources for a report or school project, access business, medical, and legal information, or find a good book to read.
For more in-depth help, arrange a personalized, face-to-face session with a library professional with our Book-a-Librarian service. The Book-a-Librarian sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual. A library staff member will give undivided attention to customers who want help with a research project or to discover new books and authors that match your taste and interests.

Regular volunteer assignments based on current Library needs are available to individuals 14 years and older who submit an application and pass a background check. Students under 14 fulfilling community service requirements for school will be accepted as volunteers on a case-by-case basis. The Library can accept monetary and in kind donations as long as they meet the needs and standards of the Library and the donor does not require a receipt. See our Donations policy.

The Library also posts positions to relevant professional sites like PNLA.org and to print and online employment sources like the Spokesman-Review and Worksource.
When a solicitor or peddler comes to your door they must be wearing a city-issued ID card. The ID card will include the city logo (in color) and a staff signature.
If you do not see an ID card or if you are told that it's with their boss, please call City Hall at 509-755-6700 during business hours, or contact 911 after 5 p.m. and on weekends.

Police Records & Forensic personnel would like the public to know that the expected wait to apply for CPL can range anywhere from two to three hours. Applications are at the Public Safety Building. Applicants have to go to the Public Safety Building to submit the application in person. A background check and fingerprints are also required. Successful applicants will have permits mailed to them as soon as possible after they are accepted.
